Diwali - Festival of Light - Volunteers needed

Lantern Parade & AfterParty, Woking Town Centre

On Thursday12 October 2017 Woking will come alive with a stunning parade ofcolourful lanterns to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

This lively,colourful event is the most popular of all the festivals from South Asia.Celebrated by Jains and Sikhs, as well as Hindus, the Festival of Lightsmarks the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge overignorance.

Leading theparade will be MAUK Chenda Team, a traditional Chenda Melam group,followed by local schools and community groups.

The Diwaliafter party will take place at the H.G. Wells Centre from 7.30pm,and will feature a varied programme of Indian music, song and dance, anddelicious Indian cuisine.

Volunteers needed to help with the event.
